Council Activities
The Budget for 2012/13 has been finalised at the meeting of 5th December 2011. A budget of £41783 has been agreed with £39489 being raised through the precept. This represents a year-on-year increase of + 5.2%
Thanks to those residents who came along and asked that an extra £1000 be raised through through Council Tax to help fund celebrations of the Queens Diamond Jubilee in June. Lets pull together and make this a truly village event that everyone can get involved in and enjoy...Its only the second time in history that we have had a queen on the throne for 60 years!
Onley Village Hall
Parishioners at Onley have agreed that Onley Village Hall should be registered as a charity. Once the charity has been properly registered the holding trustees will vest the building with the Parish Council who will become custodian trustees.
This will mean that Barby Village Hall and Onley Village Hall will then have the same status. Onley Villlage Hall will be able to secure grant funding from other funding bodies once it is a charity, and it will protect the hall by preserving it for the benefit and use of the inhabitants of Onley Park.
This is taking longer than anticipated as we have now discovered that the land transfer was not properly completed by Solicitors when it was given to the Parish and it now needs to be registered to the Parish Council.
The minutes of the meeting where this was agreed can be viewed by clicking on the link.
Barby & Onley Parish Council is a QUALITY Council which is a government initiative that recognises Councils that are well run.
